1.) Watch the following clip:

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

I would tell the young people to stop and break it up if they are younger than me and I will also call for help if the elderly man is help.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. 1.) Watch the following clip:

Describe what is a person’s ‘conscience’.

A conscience is the right maturity to tell the difference between right and wrong and it is what leads a person to complete actions.

2.) Watch the following clip:

Describe how a persons conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.

A persons conscience makes the moral decisions as it is a feeling telling you to do the right things and it is linked to religion as it helps you choose what is good or bad and what is immoral and moral.

Individual Task 3

1.) Define the term ‘moral integrity’

The term moral integrity means the choice and action of every individual person of what they think is appropriate of a situation.2.) Describe why Maximillian Kolbe is regarded as a Christian of exemplary moral integrity.

Though Maximillian Kolbe was arrested and had to go to a concentration camp for doing illegal things he is regarded as a Christian. At the camp he performed many acts and actions that were considered illegal but though they were considered illegal his actions were helping the christian community and he performed the actions to do good and these actions performed were for others not himself.

3.) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/principles that he demonstrated in Auschwitz.

Some of the actions Maximillians performed were

- he also cared and natured people in the concentration camp

 - he helped and cared for the sick people

- he showed kindness to people with no food, clothes and shelter

The most known  act that Maximillians performed was sacrificing himself for another person he didnt know. He died instead of the other person but Maximillians did this with Jesus in heart being humble just like Jesus.

4.) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e. Catholic teachings.

I think Maximillians made the right decision to sacfricise himself for another person as he had committed illegal acts before he was sent to prison and when at the camp tried extremely hard to prove himself a follower of Jesus. Just like Jesus died on the cross to sacrifice his life for us as he was humble and cared for us, Maximillians sacrificed his life for another man thinking of Jesus and how he suffered much more than himself and then sacrificed his life for everyone including himself.

I think one of the reasons Maximillians sacrificed his life is because he wanted to prove himself to Jesus.

1.) Define the term “Moral Maturity”

Moral Maturity is the ability to make decisions.

2.) Read the following article:
Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of ‘moral maturity’

He has a lack of moral maturity as he chose the wrong decision. He had already been in the wrong and made it worse by resisting arrest. Only a person with a low level of moral maturity would do that. If he had a high level of moral maturity he would of just been arrested to face the minimum punishment.

This image shows that some countries like china etc have banned  some parts of the internet because they think it is inappropriate and are obviously angry at what the internet can cause.

 -daily telegraph

-wikipedia

- channel 9

-channel 7

4.) Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the Internet. What privileges would you lose? (2 Paragraphs)

I would feel very dissapointed and frustrated as the internet is a good sorce of information. For example when I do an assignment the first resource I use is the internet as it is one of the best information sources there is. If there was no internet it would be very hard to do my assignments and school work.

Another reason why I would be dissapointed if the internet was cut is because you can communicate to people online and if that is cut then it would be hard to communicate.
